FAQS
How are your lessons taught?
All lessons at KidzInk Creative Writing are taught via Zoom video. I recommend using the Zoom app for this, but the desktop site also works fine. All students will need a computer with a working camera and microphone, as well as a strong internet connection. Siblings who attend the same class are each required to have their own device. Lesson resources, summaries and other correspondence are sent and communicated through Google Classroom. This is a separate platform which requires a gmail account.
What is your cancellation or refund policy?
Once payment has been made, a space is saved for your child, so no refunds or credits are given for any reason except extreme circumstances, which will be at the teacher's discretion. No refunds or alternative classes are offered in the event of absence.
Are all classes taught by a fully qualified teacher?
All classes are taught by the founder, Maria Costa, who is a fully qualified teacher with a BA in Creative Writing and a Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Education (PGCE). She also has a Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) from Cambridge University, and has been a teacher for over eighteen years. Maria taught in both the state and independent sector before she created KidzInk Creative Writing.
Which schools do your students pass exams for?
KidzInk has helped thousands of students succeed in passing the 11-Plus creative writing exam in the following schools: Latymer, Dame Alice Owen's, St. Paul's School for Girls, Haberdasher's, Reigate, North London Collegiate School, and more.
Do you teach one-to-one?
One-to-one classes are not offered on a weekly basis, however KidzInk Focus is a programme that teaches individual booster classes at the end of term for a small fee. Bitesize support sessions for students who are finding specific elements of writing difficult are offered free of charge throughout the term.
Do you teach internationally?
KidzInk Creative Writing currently teaches children in the U.K, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. Children from all over the world are welcome to join any of the term-time classes.
Do you have any other classes other than creative writing?
KidzInk has three other courses and programmes: The Bookcase Kidz book club; KidzInk Focus: One-to-One; and Basic Blocks: Filling the Learning Gaps, all of which are offered to existing students only.
